ML Soccer Coaching – Basic Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
Locations Covered:
The Yard (Lexington, KY – indoor winter facility)
Lisle Road Sports Complex (Georgetown, KY)
Masterson Station (Lexington, KY)
Carroll Soccer Fields (Elizabethtown, KY)
1. Emergency Communication
Cell phone carried by head coach (Marc Lawrence) at all sessions.
Emergency services (911) contacted immediately for serious injury/illness.
Nearest hospital identified before each session (list contact details).
2. Emergency Roles
Head Coach (Marc Lawrence): Assesses situation, provides initial aid, contacts EMS.
Assistant/Volunteer (if present): Guides EMS to field entrance, communicates with parents.
If alone: Call EMS, provide aid until help arrives, inform parents immediately.
3. First Aid/Medical
First aid kit kept at all sessions.
Ice packs available for sprains/strains.
CPR/First Aid certified coach onsite (Marc Lawrence).
4. Evacuation/Severe Weather
In case of severe weather (lightning, tornado warning), all participants moved to cars or indoor shelter immediately.
Games/training suspended until safe.
5. Documentation
Any incident requiring EMS or medical treatment will be reported in writing and stored in records.
